Safeguarding Policy

Many of the people supported through this platform, including children, elderly people, people with disabilities and people in crisis, are inherently vulnerable. Every person involved with On God Legacy Foundation — staff, volunteers, fundraisers and partners — is expected to act in a way that protects their safety, dignity and rights at all times.

This policy applies to all interactions carried out under the foundation's name, including case investigations, community visits, media and photography, fundraising activity, and online communication with beneficiaries or their families.

• Consent is sought from a parent, guardian or the individual (where able) before collecting photographs, videos or personal stories.
• Identifying details of children and vulnerable adults are limited in anything published, and full case evidence is never made public.
• Volunteers and staff conducting in-person visits are expected to be accompanied where appropriate and to avoid unsupervised, private contact with children.
• Any request that raises concern about exploitation, abuse or coercion is escalated immediately rather than processed as a normal case.

Anyone acting on behalf of the foundation must never request or accept money, favours or personal relationships from a beneficiary or their family in exchange for assistance or verification, must not discriminate against beneficiaries on any unlawful ground, and must report any behaviour by others that breaches this policy.

If you are worried about the safety or treatment of a child or vulnerable adult connected to this platform, or about the conduct of anyone representing the foundation, please report it as soon as possible through our Contact page. Reports are treated seriously, in confidence, and are reviewed by staff independent of the case or campaign concerned wherever possible. Where a concern indicates a child or adult may be in immediate danger, please also contact local emergency services.

Safeguarding concerns are logged and investigated promptly. Depending on the outcome, action may include suspending a case or campaign, removing a volunteer or staff member's access, referral to appropriate authorities, and changes to our procedures to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Staff and volunteers involved in case review, community visits or media work are expected to understand and follow this policy as part of their onboarding and ongoing responsibilities.
